5.0 out of 5 stars. Sleek Design and Great QualityReviewed by Mike from Lake Tahoe, CA on Wednesday, October 18, 2023can be used with wood or charcoal and it's much easier to transport than my weber original kettle

5.0 out of 5 stars. Excellent BuyReviewed by Antanae from Buffalo on Thursday, August 17, 2023Purchased this to take camping in January, and have used it so far at home over the summer to grill marshmallows and make s'mores. This stove heats fast and stays very warm for a long time. The craftsmanship is high quality and it is not flimsy at all.
It is NOT a bundle however, so if that is what is drawing you in to buy, be careful of that. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Solo Stove Basic Grill 22Reviewed by Kuro from CA on Tuesday, August 8, 2023Overall, the Solo Stove Grill is an excellent charcoal grill, once you learn its unique cooking characteristics. I grew up with charcoal grills, mostly Weber, and the Solo grill is like a high performance grill in comparison that cooks hotter with less effort thus easier and faster. The issue is that it cooks hotter than expected with the same amount of charcoal so until you learn the characteristics, it's easy to overcook your food. The good side to this is once you get the hang of it, you can use less charcoal yet cook faster. Once the charcoal is ashed over, the Solo grill really requires minimal management for cooking due to the design that maintains high heat and airflow. The charcoal also burns out far more completely in the Solo grill.
When not in use, it looks neat, just like their firepits. The build quality is excellent and there is nothing that feels cheap or flimsy about it. The lower height is also neat as it facilitates people sitting around it like a fireplace rather than standing in front of a grill in a corner, delegated to lonely grill duty. Ironically, the "Solo" grill is better for communal grilling.
I'm giving it 4 stars because it does require a bit of a learning curve to use optimally. It also came with a carrying bag though it's not really portable because the legs don't fold at all. It's also about 40lbs, which isn't lightweight. A weatherproof cover would have been a much better included accessory. Lastly, it appears the Solo Stove grill was discontinued.
